Beardstown Houston Memorial Public Library

 Apply for a Library Card
Beardstown Library Cards are free to all Beardstown residents.  There is a fee for people who live outside of Beardstown city limits. It is $25.00 for 6 months or $50.00 for one year. Please bring the following to the library to get your card:

• To obtain a library card, come to the library and fill out an application for a card. In a few days you will receive a post card in the mail at your residence. Bring your post card in and we will issue your library card.

You must be age 16 or older to get a library card. For patrons under 16, a parent or guardian must sign the application for the child.

Guidelines for Borrowing Materials

• Books, audiobooks, and CDs are available for a 14 day checkout period. 
• DVDs are available for a 7 day checkout period. 

Fees & Renewing Materials

Fines for overdue books, audiobooks and CDs are .25 cents a day. Fines for overdue DVDs are 1.00 per day.
 

The library provides free educational and recreational monthly programs for children.

Pre-K story time is held on Mondays 1 to 2

 Meeting Room Reservations
The meeting room is available for community use.

Internet & Word Processing
The Library provides internet service to all patrons. Children under 16 must have a signed permission slip by a parent or guardian.

Printing and photocopying services are also available. Black and white prints and copies are $0.50 per page, and color prints and copies are $1.00 per page.

• Inside Illinois: $3.00 for the first page, $1.00 for each additional page.
• International: $25.00 for the first page, $2.00 for each additional page.

 AccessThe City of Beardstown Library provides free print copies of newspapers, magazines, and other digital resources. The Library offers the Cass County Star Gazette, and the Jacksonville Journal Courier .
