As an elected, record-keeping officer, the City Clerk and staff are responsible for the preparation, execution, and archiving of all City Council documents as prescribed by State law and City Code.
These duties include:
Birth Certificate
Birth certificates remain on file at Beardstown City Hall or the Cass County Clerk's Office for any person born in Cass County.
A certified copy can be requested for a copy fee. The City of Beardstown fees are: $5.00 for the first certified copy, $2.00 for each additional certified copy.
Death Certificate
Death certificates remain on file at Beardstown City Hall or the Cass County Clerk's Office for any person who's death occurred within Cass County, IL.
A certified copy can be requested for a copy fee. The City of Beardstown fees are: $9.00 for the first certified copy, $6.00 for each additional certified copy.
How Do I Get a Copy of a Birth or Death Certificate?
Certified copies of birth or death certificates can be requested in person at the Beardstown City Clerk's Office at 105 E. 3rd St. Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Certified copies can also be requested by mail. The written request should contain the name of the individual, date of birth / date of death, parents' names including mother's maiden name, number of copies requested, and a check or money order made payable to the City of Beardstown and can be sent to:

Due Date
Fines are due in full within seven days of violation.
