The City of Beardstown Park District offers a wide variety of facilities and activities for your enjoyment.
These facilities include several community parks, historical Looking for Lincoln sites, Roy Roberts Park with a fishing pond, a sports complex, tennis court, disk golf course, walking trail, and community center.
Beardstown Community Park District’s birth was founded on providing a public swimming pool for safe swimming. Being located on the Illinois River, our community had too many tragedies with swimmers using the river for a place to swim. When incorporated in 1954, the park district’s main emphasis was constructing a pool and providing Little League baseball for its patrons in town parks totaling 32 acres. We have grown to meet the recreational and park facility needs of Beardstown to 5 parks totaling 100 acres and a community center providing year round programs and activities. Much of the park district’s facilities have been made possible thru volunteers and donations from our community, making our park district especially proud of its growth and services provided.
